Embracing the Individual
One of the things that I love about what I do is the opportunity to meet so many great parents and interesting children.
In my day, it seemed as if children were all taught the same, dressed the same, talked the same. These days, parents embrace the individually of their own children and highlight their uniqueness. Does your child has to wear glasses? Great! Let's get bright pink ones with a touch of glitter on the corner. Son likes to wear Superman capes? Cool. Let's make sure he has two so that one can always be clean and ready to go to church or school or the store.
The more we celebrate the uniqueness among all of us, the more accepting the world will be to our individualism. Maybe it's the way to stop bullying everywhere.
